I got a reply today from Burt's Bees about their gluten free cosmetics and personal products list. Actually, it is still the list from January of 2009 that is on their website. And that's fine, that must be their most updated info.

However, it is horribly difficult to find. I always have to do a search because it doesn't seem obvious from the choices at the top of their website. So here it is, to prevent you from having to navigate. And here's the link in case you'd like to find some of these products.

Happy shopping!

Thank you VERY much for this list!!! I've been checking every couple of weeks since I was diagnosed with Celiac 4 months ago for this list (which is no longer on their website). Everytime I contact them, they simply tell me that they're working on an updated list and will have it available within the next 4-6 weeks. (They must have really long weeks over there!) I'm so glad to finally have some answers! :)

Thank you for posting this. It's amazing how hard it is to find information about what products are gluten free

Wow. Thank you for sharing! I have been having a hard time making a switch to a gluten free lifestyle. Gluten seems to be hidden in everything!
Thanks again!!

Hi! I called Burts Bees on Friday, 5/9/2010 and they sais they can no longer claim that any of their products are 100% gluten free. :(

Here's an update on the Burt's Bees situation. They cannot verify a gluten free list because of the sources of some of their ingredients. They aren't able to say that those ingredients haven't been contaminated.

So they don't have a list, but they will check on each individual product that you call about. The customer representative I spoke to was very nice and helpful. She was not able to tell me which specific ingredients were not OK. Two out of the three products I had her check were OK and apparently had no questionable ingredients. She suggested a couple of possible replacements for me.

The facial cleanser is not OK (sad because I really like it!), but she said the Radiance Exfoliating Body Wash was fine to use on my face, not too harsh. Also, the citrus facial scrub would work and was OK as far as cross contamination risk. So practically speaking, it's not like Burt's Bees is a total loss for people needing gluten free products. You just have to call and ask about specific products that would be safe.

Because ingredients can change, always be sure to call before you buy a new product, or even replace a favorite product. You never know!

Much thanks to Clover for bringing this to my attention.

This is wonderful info! My daughter is allergic to gluten but also allergic to all nuts, soy, tomato (and several others). The problem that I have with Burts Bees is how many nut oils they use. Any suggestions for both nut and gluten free products for her?
